Position Overview    

As an AI & Technical Business Coach, you will support and develop apprentices and employers through AI, Data and Software Development focused apprenticeship standards and professional programmes. You will guide learners in applying AI tools, automation, and data-driven technologies within real business environments, ensuring they build practical capability alongside theoretical knowledge. 

You will work closely with employers to design structured development plans, aligning the implementation projects with apprenticeship requirements and business objectives. The role requires predominantly one-to-one coaching, supporting learners throughout their apprenticeship journey from onboarding through to end of programme. 

You will adapt coaching approaches to suit individual learning needs, encourage innovation, and bring practical business relevance to a structured curriculum.

Technical Business Coach (Software Development, Data, IT Analysis & AI) 

Deliver structured coaching and skills development across Software Development, Data Analysis, and AI apprenticeship programmes, supporting the development of knowledge, skills, and behaviours 

Facilitate workplace learning and project-based application, guiding apprentices in applying coding, data analysis, and AI tools to real business challenges 

Conduct progress reviews, professional discussions, and formative assessments, ensuring portfolio evidence aligns with apprenticeship standards and End-Point Assessment requirements 

Provide technical teaching and targeted knowledge reinforcement, covering programming principles, data analysis methods, automation tools, and modern digital workflows 

Support apprentices in developing professional behaviours, including problem-solving, stakeholder communication, agile collaboration, and responsible use of data and AI technologies 

Coach learners in AI adoption and digital productivity, including generative AI, prompt engineering, automation tools, and data-driven decision-making 

Provide guidance in technical areas such as Python scripting, API integrations, data analysis, data visualisation, and low-code/no-code development 

Monitor learner progress using e-portfolio systems, action planning, and milestone tracking, ensuring strong engagement, timely completion, and measurable workplace impact 

Support apprentices in troubleshooting technical challenges, reviewing project work, and demonstrating measurable business value from AI and digital solutions 

Progress Monitoring & Assessment 

Monitor apprentice progress against apprenticeship standards and learning objectives 

Support portfolio development and documentation of implementation projects 

Prepare apprentices for mid and end of programme assessments 

Ask appropriately challenging questions that progressively build technical depth and commercial awareness 

Observe and assess practical demonstrations of application in business contexts 

Identify learners at risk and implement structured intervention strategies 

Liaise with IQA when projects are ready for quality assurance 

Employer Engagement & Business Impact 

Work collaboratively with employers to align projects to commercial objectives 

Support businesses in understanding the strategic value of projects 

Provide structured feedback on apprentice performance and business outcomes 

Act as a trusted advisor in responsible role exposure and adoption 

Compliance, Quality & Reporting 

Maintain accurate learner records in line with funding and compliance requirements 

Record activity within the OneFile e-portfolio system 

Complete coaching reports and formal progress reviews 

Report learner activity and risks to management in a timely manner 

Communicate effectively with Apprenticeship and Career Support teams 

Respond professionally to employer and learner feedback 

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement 

Work closely with trainers, IQAs, curriculum leads, and delivery teams 

Contribute to improving AI curriculum materials and coaching frameworks 

Share best practice in AI implementation and business coaching 

Stay current with emerging AI technologies and industry trends 

Professional Standards & Safeguarding 

Embed Maths and English Functional Skills where appropriate 

Deliver and embed topics including Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, Equal Opportunities, and Health & Safety 

Identify learning barriers early and implement practical solutions 

Represent Leep Talent as a high-quality apprenticeship provider to learners and employers 

Candidate Requirements 

Skills & Experience 

Strong knowledge of digital and technical apprenticeship standards, particularly in Software Development, Data Analysis, and AI-related programmes 

Experience supporting the practical application of AI, software development tools, and data analysis techniques within business or project environments 

Understanding of software development practices including programming concepts, version control, debugging, testing, and the software development lifecycle 

Knowledge of data analysis processes, including data collection, preparation, analysis, visualisation, and interpretation to support business decision-making 

Familiarity with AI tools, automation platforms, and modern digital workflows, and the ability to guide apprentices in using these responsibly and effectively 

Awareness of AI adoption challenges within SMEs and enterprise environments, including governance, ethics, and operational integration 

Strong understanding of apprenticeship quality frameworks, including Ofsted expectations and the Apprenticeship Accountability Framework 

Ability to explain technical concepts such as programming, data analysis, and AI technologies clearly to learners and non-technical stakeholders 

Experience in coaching, mentoring, teaching, or assessing apprentices, supporting learner progress and workplace application of skills 

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and learner support skills 

Strong organisation, planning, and time-management abilities, with experience managing multiple learners and review cycles 

Motivated, adaptable, and solution-focused, with a commitment to continuous professional development in emerging technologies 

Experience using OneFile or similar e-portfolio systems to track learner progress and evidence (desirable)

Essential Qualifications / Experience 

  • Teaching Qualifications (one of the following): 
  • PGCE / CertEd / QTS or Level 4 Teaching Qualification / Level 3 Teaching Qualification 
  • Level 3 Assessor Qualification 

Maths & English 

  • English Level 2 or above 
  • Maths Level 2 or above 

Technical Competency 

  • Degree or higher in AI, Data, Computer Science, Digital, or related field 

Or: 

  • Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience 
  • Technical certifications demonstrating AI competence 
  • Qualification at a level above what is being delivered 

IAG : Level 3 IAG qualification or above (Or working towards within first 6 months)
